Title: 209 vs 209M?
Post by: dogdad1 on March 03, 2014, 11:57:36 AM
I just found an old teal-green 209 at a flea-market that has a fair amount of corrosion on it, and want to 'spiff' it up as much as I can.  I'm thinking of buying a NIB 209M that a local shop has had in the window for quite awhile and using it as a donor carcass.

Can I just swap the shiny parts one-for-one, or are there any physical differences as to fit size, etc?

The parts are identical so you can do a direct swap.

Many thanks, I was going cross-eyed trying to compare them and find any difference(s).

Nice find !!!  The green Penn peer 209 is a rare reel, I believe it is from the mid 50's.
