Post by: gstours on March 07, 2014, 05:56:04 AM
Hello and it seems like every once in a while something comes along that is helpfull. I made a punch for the diawa 400 and 300 sealine endplate bearings removal.  it has an Outside Dia. of .190'', ans is usefull for removing the pinion bearing.   it works slick, and you can make one reel ezy..........gst.

Wish I would have had a picture to show the punch. but its on the other computer and I can only do photobook on this one so thats the way of the world.....anyway, take a round steel (sst is good) rod, and grind it down to the dimensions, and square off the end,   the smaller parallell shank needs to be the with of the bearing .   or about 1/4''..  If somebody wants to buy one with no fuss,,,,,mail me a reply and I can do a few to help out......I Like The Diawas........gst.

I wish I would have sent a couple pictures of my recent post of removing the R.H. sideplate Pinion Bearing.  Seems like I may have confused some folks as they inquired about it.  First the punch only works on the rh side the Left side is in a cup holder and cannot be punched, must be treated differently, and like some have said must be replaced with the cup as a unit, I found one side has a shield and the other side no shield, which is ok with my, easy to clean, inspect and lube.   so attached are the tardy pics........gst.

I hope this helps some folks.......The 600h punch may have to be larger diameter, but they come out the same way.
