Title: Performed step splice in seaguar threadlock hollow braid
Post by: JayMak79 on April 27, 2014, 05:34:11 AM
I just performed my fist step splice today, I was able to splice 50 lb Threadlock into 80 lb.  I just wanted to know if anyone else is using this approach?  I am not really stacking braid, I only spliced 25 yards to have a little more strength at the business end for attaching a wind-on.

BTW - the reel was a SX Raptor, Basil at BHP was able to get 375 yard of Threadlock hollow on there, plus the 25 yard step splice puts overall capacity at 400 yards.  That is an impressive amount of line for a little reel!
