Title: 113HN respooling
Post by: joel8080 on May 16, 2014, 03:32:48 PM
I just got a spare spool for my 113HN, I want to put 300 yards of 65 lb spectra on it, question how many yards of 40 lb mono can I put on the reel yet have room for 300 yds of spectra.

have you tried Accurate's line calculator? it might give you an idea on how much mono it can have after you spool it with multifilament.

According to Scotts, The HN Holds 300 yards of 40 lb mono or 600 yards of 65lb braid. So, the braid is going to take up half your spool and leave you with 150 yards of 40 lb mono on top.

I put almost 500 yards of 80 lbs braid and have a 25 yards topshot of 60 lbs mono on top.

Accurate's line calculator 40lb=.024 diameter 65lb=.0161 667 yrds of 65lb multi, 667-300=367 yrds 65lb you'll get more or less of 165 yrds 40lb...
