What are the size differences in the different surfmaster reels. I know a 250 and a jigmaster 500 are basically the same size. but what about the rest.
The Surfmaster 100, 150 and 200 are smaller in diameter than the Surfmaster 250 and Jigmasters. The 100 is the same width as a 501/506 Jigmaster, the 150 the same width as a 99 and the 200 Jigmaster 500/505 width.
Just to add a bit, the small Surfmasters are the same size as the Squidders and Beachmasters. The 100 Surfmaster, 146 Squidder and 180 Baymaster use the same rings, stand and cross bars.
Ron
ok so the 100 is the same size as the 146, is the 150 the same size as a 145, and is the 200 the same as a 140. also I have seen aluminum spools for the 100 are there any for the others.
The 100 spool will fit the 180 and the Beachmaster and the Surfmaster of the same size use the same spool, your size description is correct. The squidder is a whole different kettle of fish with bearings and a different pinion and so it uses it's own spool. The Surfmaster and squidder use the same main gear though.
Ron
are there any aluminum spools available for the 150 200 250
Yes,
I believe Scott's has the two smaller ones, the 250 uses a Jigmaster spool.
Ron
Yes, the Surfmaster 250 uses the same 29L-500 spool as the Jigmaster 500, you can use a Jigmaster 501 frame and a 29L-501 spool to make a Surfmaster 250N. The Surfmaster 100 uses a 29L-100, the 150 uses a 29L-150 and the 200 uses a 29L-200
