Title: Pro Gear 454 bearing
Post by: fishhhh on June 15, 2014, 09:16:02 AM
I want to replace the bearing on the gear side of the reel but the bearing is stuck in the black plastic holder.  Any suggestions on how to remove without damaging the black plastic holder. thanks

I use a little tool I got from a dentists office. It's ss and curves into the middle of the bearing and then I force it up to remove. I had to cut off some of the tip in order to make it fit properly. It will scratch the outside ss on the bearing but there's no damage. Most come out pretty quick.

You can probably find a similar tool at an OSH, Ace hardware etc.
