Title: Okuma Titus Platinum Ultima TI 80
Post by: Paul N Florida on June 28, 2014, 10:38:06 AM
I'm a new member and found this site trying to find info on this reel. Have always been a Penn guy so am mostly familiar with them. I would appreciate any information I can get on this reel.  Haven't been able to find much on the internet.  Would like opinions of the reel...Dates of manufacture and any pro's and con's of the reel.  Looks pretty well built and is in excellent condition but I do want to service it as it has been sitting in a garage the past 5 years since the guys father passed away. Thanks for any help....

i found this photo.  it looks like one of their older reels.  if there was a way to put a carbon fiber drag washer in the reel, it might be worth it, but otherwise the original canvas (yes, canvas) drags will never stay smooth.  you would probably have to find a sheet of carbon fiber and maybe have to glue it to a backing plate.

My reel is somewhat different than the one pictured... Narrower frame and different markings...4.21 gear ratio...25/590...30/440...40/350...different more modern looking handle...Is this any help...

I think you'll need to get in there and see what you've got. There are a few here that cut CF.
