Title: ARB
Post by: Wintu on July 14, 2014, 02:46:22 PM
Just wonder if it's me but my anti reverse bearing do not engage fast / instantaneous .Replaced some and they work then fail ,I've cleaned them replaced without lube /dry and also with corrosion x still have problems. Okuma Induron replaced with new arb but it failed after just 200 days of salmon and steelhead fishing. Maybe it's just time to retire them and stay with my Records??  :-\   Old retired guy

200 days is ALOT of fishing!!!!  i drizzle corrosion x through AR bearings.  what is causing the failure?  is it rust, particulate matter or a drag pressure over 10 pounds?

No rust ,maybe the 200" of rain per year here on the Chetco ,Smith, Rogue .I do fish some in the ocean also but I use the coldwater Okuma. Thinking now about the 10 lb drag maybe ::) Thanks Alan. PS LOTS of  ocean salmon here in Brookings
