Due to a serious health condition, I'm trying my best to stay away from hazardous chemicals and solvents. I know Alan and most others use carb cleaner and canned air to clean bearings. Is there a safer, less toxic alternative?
How about this stuff put out by ardent: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0030MTP8I/ref=s9_simh_gw_p200_d1_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_r=17BDHTCWDWK0KWF9XQS4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200422&pf_rd_i=507846
Or this Simple Green degreaser: http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Green-19128-Industrial-Degreaser/dp/B000ULLGRU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406144540&sr=8-1&keywords=green+cleaner+degreaser
I realize that neither of these will evaporate as quickly as carb cleaner, but I'm willing to wait (or use a combination of canned air and hair dryer to speed things up) if you think this is an alternative to the tried and true method.
Thanks
simple green is awesome.
IPA is one of the less nasty solvents and it evaporates fairly quickly without leaving a residue :)
It is my go to solvent.
Go with the green. Its good stuff. ;)
