is it the DG 10 perma lub?
can anyone confirm?
nobody noes?
not sure what shimano uses anymore...... :-\
damn....
its white in colour tho... hahah
Dunno what they call it....Shimano tends to use lighter greases and use them sparingly to ensure that "smoothness" out of the box, not to ensure lasting lube and corrosion protection.
Their interest is in how the reel feels when brand new at the point of sale. Not in what will keep it running the longest.
i agree
they are after a free-spinning feel... but i think its ... undesirable long term wise
i think its the perma lube DG 10

All I can add is you likely will be happiest with a lighter marine type bearing grease rather than the stickiest ones I've come across.
Spinning reels are notorious for low cranking power and especially the smaller ones can feel sluggish with a too heavy grease.
Permalub and spray grease are white in color. Shimano SEA told me to use the Spray kit for Stellas
The ones I have opened have the off white grease in them. Just a dab here and there...
hi guys!
just confirmed after calling Shimano SEA.
perma lub DG 10 for the gears
and DG 01 for the bearings!
Alan maybe u wanna pin this up?
