Title: What Is Your Reel Maintenance Schedule?
Post by: sundaytrucka on July 27, 2014, 05:31:27 AM
I have acquired my reel collection, broke all of them down and serviced them as noted by Alan, sometimes when not even necessary. I have used my reels on 4 trips (so far) this season, full-day, twilight, and two half-day boats and wanted to know when I should start breaking them down and servicing them?

I see most guys mention servicing them at the end of season, others every year or two...so, in regards to taking care of your reels in the long-run, is it ok to fish my reels for a season (3-4 month period) before I break them down fully and service them with the Tani Treatment? Or should I break them down before the season is over?

Your opinions on waiting to the end of season, or intermittent servicing?  What is your own personal maintenance schedule?

Thanks, Scott

i'd drop in some lube into the bearings every couple of trips.
