Title: JB Hollow
Post by: Shark Hunter on August 02, 2014, 06:53:50 PM
I'm down to my last 12/0 that needs refurbed. This one had 600 yards of JB hollow 200 lb line on it. looking at the spool, I said there is no way that is 600 yards!

Well, it was. 30 minutes later.

This stuff sure lays flat! I think it was wound on way tighter than my respool. That only leaves me about 100 yards of 130lb mono. Still a 300 yard increase in yardage of straight mono. The chrome spool will only hold 400 yards. I am thinking of splitting this between two 12/0's, or just putting it on a 14.
Need to work on my serve tonight. ::)

Good deal, I was hoping it held a little more than 100yards of 130. I want to load my jb  hollow 200lb as tight as possible, then see how much 150 mono I can load. I would be ecstatic to get 300 on it, as the spool calculated it to 450 on straight mono.

I guess I'll find out next week.

It's about capacity. With the use of spectra line, west coast fishing became small reel, big fish. In your case it's big reel, huge fish. ;)

Mr Shark
what are those creatures in the cabinet behind
they will give me Nightmares

I have a 80w to spool with 130lb hollow
wondering if 1200yards will be enough
