Title: 180
Post by: Shark Hunter on August 11, 2014, 06:16:48 AM
Pompano Joe recently did a nice build to one of these. I have one that's been sitting around for a while. Since I have no Big Senators to currently work on, He gave me some inspiration. Immediately, I noticed someone magged this one!

Steel main gear is always a Bonus. Just going to replace the sleeve to stainless and replace the leather drags with Carbon fiber.(http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag93/darondyer/IMG_24721_zpse9657d09.jpg)
Feels pretty stout now. Should make a great bait reel for the Kayak!

Sweet Daron !
Is there an aluminum spool that would work for a 180?

I DONT THINK THE BUILD WOULD BE COMPLETE WITHOUT A MINI SHARK  ARM AND ONE OF ALANS HANDLES...GREAT LITTLE REEL FOR FISHING THE BAYS ON LONG ISLAND, GOOD LUCK WITH IT

This one arrived today. This is the first smaller penn reel I have bough that is actually new. It must have been sitting with the box open for a long time. It was covered in dust. I pulled the line off and wiped it down with a damp paper towel.

I need to clean it up a little. I think I will leave this one as is. ;)

Very nice. Does the new one have a fresh water reel seat? Hence the 180F
