Hi Guys,

Is it possible to increase the gear ratio of a Surfmaster 150 using stock parts from another reel.

Not much room for a larger main gear.

Thanks Alan and Lee, It was worth asking just in case it may have been possible.

3:1 and a small spool ID makes the Surfmaster a bit slow for salmon and albacore but for bottom fish they work well.

Thanks Lee, it will be used mainly for bottom fishing, I just thought it would have been nice to have a bit faster retrieve if possible.

The reel is actually a 150 that I narrowed to 100 size with some spare parts I had.
