This is another way to try to move the fish to you. It might be the vibration, or sound? or movement? I dunno but it works when the water is moving past the boat some but not too hard. I could use any really large(7size++) old blades that people have layin around,If its blades you may never use, the large pike/musky sizes are the best.....I will try to repay or trade back....I repaint the beat up blades with white basecote and then glow in dark paint.....sometimes!

this one had a mono leader, but I usually use hard wire........a clevis will scratch and ring the mono, but it takes several days, also the folded clevises are way better, I was thinking a clevis folded over a tube, but that a winter project. the next generation is not far off!

This is another spinner rig, Its deadly as you can see the 2 j hooks are securely attatched.. The red thread wrap is an experimental e-chip from a pro troll flasher. who knows? can't ask this fish? who knows?

Out here on the east coast we fish for fluke the same way, except everything is much smaller. ;D
Try running two blades in a row. Same size or make the top one smaller.
If I were going to use 2 Spinner Blades I would put a 8mm light green or Glow Bead between them so they don't bump each other.

Yes I usually hook a large herring head down, with the j hooks in the side if the body, and then another and sister it along the non hook side after slicing the outside of it with 4-6 cuts 90 degrees to the spine, and wrap the pair with elastic thread, found in sewing stores. Its very deadly, as the cuts let the scent out immediately and keeps it from slipping as the bait is tapered and slipery. a couple oh half hitches and dropp er down and see what happens. sometimes even I get lucky.........thats fishin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I've been using blades and shell squid for halibut for years, it works well.

I was given some LARGE swimbaits to try out for lingcod this season but the broken hand put this on hold, I will try using them form lingcod and butt next opening.
Thanks for the pictures of your rigs Lee, I started with the winged bobber (spin n glo s) and they worked ok, but they got thrashed and the wings fell off by the chewing......I would replace then with the white plastic section of a strip cut from a purex jug....epoxyed them in . they fish all summer that way.......eventually they need repainting as they bet chewed on too........But they seemed to work...
Then I started using large spinner blades, they have a lot more flash and vibration and take more runoff to keep them working. I will post some of my rigs from this summer. but. I,m away from home for a few weeks visiting the nw.....

these are the winged bobber spin n glo s that I use for fairly slack water......they use 400#mono and work well.......
Mr Wallacewt asked the question about the red gizmo in the first picture of the spinner. Well the red thingee is a E chip that was wrapped with red tufline and epoxied to coat the threads. I am experimenting with the E- chip from pro troll, they use them in salmon flashers and they are said to put out a recognizable electrical discharge signal the some fish recognize as a frightened or injured baitfish..........I started with 1 on a rig........this summer I tried doubling it up and caught fish.....but the jury is still out........It may help induce a strike.........It works on salmon flashers....as for the cohos they seem to bite the hootchys just fine.....

this is a cod that hit our bait, when it started coming up a sea lion grabbed it and bit it, stretched it out a little, we played tug a war, but the hooks never penetrated his ugly face, and we got it away from him.......later we used it for bait. sea lions can be a menace if they lose their fear of people.

We use a wrist rocker to try to scare them away when you have fish hanging over the side.......w. marbles usually, but ball bearings would be better!
