Title: Couple of DAM quick reels
Post by: cwillis85 on October 10, 2014, 11:15:20 PM
Hey guys, just picked up the two Quicks for less the $40. One is a 330n and the other is a Finessa, can't find a model number but is slightly smaller than the 330n. Both are similar size to the 710z pictured and both together cost less. Cool features on the 330n are quick release spool, there is a spring tension adjustment under the spool, and just overall feels like a tank. The finessa feels even more tank like, has a metal spool with a cork wrapped center and also a felt oil ring to help keep water out of the rotor cup. Pretty neat. Can't wait to fish them.

A special thanks to Fred (foakes) for sending me a couple parts to get the 330n up and running, not sure I would have found the parts otherwise.

Fred or anyone else know what size mono to spool on the 330n, I'm hoping for about 300yds of line on it.

The Finessa is the same size as a 330 (forerunner to the 330).

The Finessa will hold 265 yards of 10 pound test -- the spool is a little larger and deeper on the 330N -- and line technology has improved substantially..

So you may get 300 Yds. of 10 pound, depending on the diameter of the line.

Spool on the 330N is plastic -- metal on the Finessa.

It really depends on what you are targeting.

Best,

Fred

Thanks for the info Fred, figure that is going to be mostly used for catching bait at the reefs. My daughter has been running around with the Finessa, I think she likes that it is setup with the handle on the same side as here Mickey Mouse Long beach reel. I am hoping to try to split her time between the Long beach and the Finessa so she has experience with both types of reels. Then teach her how her little fish can turn into bigger fish and hopefully dinner.   :)
