Title: Rare Penn Screw?
Post by: gstours on December 03, 2014, 07:00:15 PM
A few years ago I posted the question if anyone uses a different screw on the senators freespool to attatch the lever. I didn,t care for the hex bolt looking factory offering that we are use to!
The other day I found the animal on a Penn 114h and thought the good people out there might want a view also!
Has anybody an Idea of the history of it? It seems to have a different thread pitch than the hex ones we are used to. Seems to be a factory part, as it works fine as is but wont interchange with other stock penn reels.  What do you think?

Looks to me that someone stepped up the original size fastener a size by drilling and re-threading the eccentric cam to fit this new multi screw. I would be curious what kind of material the screw is made from. Is it magnetic? The original is chrome plated brass.  I do not believe this was done in the Penn factory but who knows. Stranger things have happened.  :-\
