Title: Xtreme Smoothies vs carbontex
Post by: unpescador on October 24, 2010, 01:18:34 PM
Now that you guys have helped me figure out which model Calcutta (CT 100) I'm working on, can anyone explain the dif between the Xtreme Smoothies vs Carbontex. My goal is a smooth drag, increased drag pressure is secondary.
Many thanks to Alan and all the members that make this site such a GREAT resource!!!

They are entirely different. I much prefer Carbontex. Smoothies can get sticky with the slightest bit of grease, oil or water contamination but are fine if you can keep them impeccably clean.

Actually, I've got Xtreme Smoothies (w/a breath of cal's grease) in my last beloved newell 533 wahoo/bomb reel and they perform perfectly. Smooth and strong.
