Title: MXL drag washer
Post by: Saltyrick on October 31, 2010, 03:13:03 PM
Any recommendations as to where to get drag washers for a MXL? Or do i need to go to AVET directly?
I was doing cleaning the reel and found the drag washer to be a mess......and of course water got underneath the washer and the spool has started to pit a little bit. Was thinking of gently sanding it and coating with a bit of grease before re-assembling. Any thoughts? Thanks,

Avet is the only source I know of. They're pretty good about quick shipping and have very reasonable parts prices.

Thanks for the feedback.....Thats kind of what I figured....will call them in the morning.

Alan - No, the drag washer is not glued......I am wondering if this may have led to the corrosion issue? Although, I have a much older MX that gets used much more often and it does NOT have any corrosion at all....
