Do you need the entire assembly?

Line guide, pawl, pawl cap, spiral worm gear, left side bushing, right side bushing, bushing spring, upper line guide post with slot, worm gear, nylon idler gear, worm shield --

Which of these? -- or?

Best,

Fred

You beat me to it.  I never found a reel beside the road, unless I stopped at a garage sale, which is how I got started buying reels.

When I want to be friends with my Garbage Men, I leave them some leather gloves. Works every time. ;)
My son found a nice 4/0 on a St. Croix rod a while back. Sitting on top of some ones garbage can! :o
Its good to have friends! ;D

Hey TXANGLER,had no luck so far but in disassembly i found i had a bad pinion gear so i need one of those first as well as upgrading the drag and getting a ss gear sleeve and dog.

fred likely has all of these parts.  i might also, but i'd have to do some digging.  if you can list the part numbers that you need, that would help.

I believe I have all of the parts he needs -- Alan is right.

I have schematics, of course -- but it appears the 309 & 209 share many of the same parts with the exception of the actual line guide and nylon idler gear.  But Penn is not real clear on this in my service manuals -- so I need to go through Chris's laundry list carefully -- since I just sold my last 309 to use for physically matching.

For sure I have the guide and larger idler gear -- probably have all of it -- and a new pinion.

Stay tuned!

Best,

Fred

does Fred not have all of them. I just got done accumulating parts for a 309. some of them are cheaper to get from mysticparts.com.
