Title: drag click pin & spring on Calcutta 400TE
Post by: steelfish on January 29, 2015, 12:35:16 AM
I read somewhere that this does more damage than benefits.

the useful benefit is that its supposedly the "alarm" from when your reel is letting line go by a fish, its barely noticeable.
and the "damage" that causes on the long run is to add pressure to one side of the drag stack more than the other, so the is not even pressure and the drags are not that smooth as they can be with it that pin/spring.

what are your thoughts on this?

the pin is really tiny and the spring that it rides on is very light.  couldn't possibly be a problem.
