Title: Squidder question
Post by: bob v on February 18, 2015, 09:30:00 PM
O.K. Here's a newbee question. What's the difference between a Squidder 145 L and a 146L and what does the L stand for? And ,if I want to turn one of my standard 140 Squidders into a smaller reel which would be preferable?......bob v

guys, different widths, right?  i bought some squidder frames a while back.  there was a 140, a 145 and a 146, and i think them were just different widths.   :-\

L stands for aluminum spool.
Frame on the 146L is 1 5/8"
on the 145L is 2/1/8"
on the 140L is 2 3/8"

The 146L and 145L will cost you some money, new or used, the 1400 is more reasonable.

I already have a few 140 Squidders and I was going to change one over to a smaller casting reel. Which way should I go?......bob v

I prefer the narrower reels, but do not have a Squidder.  Go for the 146.
