Title: Incorrectly Marked 29-100 Spool?
Post by: George4741 on February 23, 2015, 09:50:04 PM
I bought a plastic spool from eBay that is factory marked 29-155.  I needed a spool for a 180 and decided to take a chance on this one.  The seller (whom I've done business with and trust) called it a 155 JR spool.  One photo clearly showed the part# 29-155 and another photo showed the spool next to a ruler.  It was clearly much narrower than a -155 spool.  Anyway, it fits nicely in my 180, so it is truly a 29-100 or 29P-100, or something like that.

Has anyone else seen a mis-marked Penn spool?

Alan, you could always send them to me and I'll try them in my Penn reels ;).  Just the ones that you suspect are Penn, though.  I'll pay for mailing them back to you, minus the ones I might purchase.
