Hi Folks, this site is outstanding; learning tons. I'm finishing a couple of weekend builds on some yard-saler's that have been laying around for some years...209, 155, 160 and came up short some screws. Can anyone advise part numbers or the correct sizes / specs for the SS frame screws from M/C? I'd like to get some of each length. Can these be had in torx or allen heads?
May as well get 113H and 114/5 sizes too if I'm ordering....can anyone advise?

John, here's what
Maestro Sal told me a few days ago when I asked him essentially the same question:
"Aiala, I usually order: 5-40 x 3/8", 5-40 x 1/2" and 5-40 x 5/8". Those will take care most Penn. If you need them for the Accu-Plates, I would also order 5-40 x 3/4" & 5-40 x 1". It's always good to have an assortment and they're not expensive.
These are fillister head, I'm not sure socket heads are available in dimensions listed above. Socket heads are better to work with, but after installing them, I like the way these fillister heads look much better, I also like the way the head is rounded.

For the 155, Jigmaster and related reels. The 5-40 3/8" ss socket head is what I use.

Use the 1/4" length for the stand screws.
They stick out a little, but they are a nice addition if the screws are in bad shape.

Thanks Sharkhunter, that's what i will check out. I saw your build on that 85; i did one a few years back the same way and gave to a kid that had his stuff stolen. I have another that got reeled up on a pier; needless to say it's rough but imma give it the business anyway and see what happens...no use having boxes of parts laying around!
another point: I have a bunch of extra new style clamps, but to stay old school on the old red plate stuff and still get rid of the wingnuts I'm thinking of cutting the stand screws back and capping the clamp with acorn nuts (similar to old style 12T International nuts) for a nice streamlined look. any thoughts / recco?

Should work just fine -- as long as you keep the reel on the same Rod, or at least the same diameter Rod where the reel seat attaches. Otherwise you may need to change out the cut stand threaded screw posts.
If it is an open or through acorn nut -- no issues -- somewhat adjustable.
If it is a closed or blind acorn nut -- it must fit exactly right on -- or either the reel will not be as tight as needed -- or there may not be enough thread bite into the acorn nut.
Use SS, and grease all thread surfaces both where the posts attach to the stand & also where the acorn nuts attach. This protects and enables a clean, smooth disassembly. You will be much happier when you break down the reel for servicing.

Thanks Fred! All my reels this size pretty much go on 20 MM seats and will live there except a Squidder destined for a Heaver rebuild; that's a great point as the open nuts are a little harder to find and I think the closed acorn will look better. I'm taking pics of these builds and as well as the rods I'm wrapping for them; just got to figure out this photobooth thing.
