Title: Accurate BX2 Spool Bearing
Post by: Mr GreenJeans on November 27, 2010, 03:12:01 AM
I am looking to replace my BX2-400 spool bearings and they don't appear to be a standard size.  My calipers show the size as ID 3/16", OD 1/2", and width 3/16".  However, Boca and Smoothdrag don't appear to carry this size.  Are my calipers off?  Does anyone know what size the spool bearing is supposed to be?

Thanks.

try reading them in millimeters

Tried that.  Unfortunately, it doesn't measure out in a nice even number of mm.  For example, the OD is about 12.5 mm, which is also not a stocked item.

3/16 x 1/2 x .196" is common... would that fit?

I checked Boca and they do stock bearings in 3/16 x 1/2 x .196".  In another post, Alan listed that size as the bearings for the older Boss reels.  Unfortunately, his post is silent on the newer BX2 reels.  I may just have to buy some and see if they fit.  Thanks.
