Title: penn 505hs
Post by: jamesnashtonbrady on March 29, 2015, 02:47:56 AM
Just picked up a penn 505hs.  I love it. The free spool is amazing and the drags are strong.  What I want to know is what can I do to make this thing a tank. Such as ss gears and such. A power handle and I've heard that someone makes a solid frame and side plates but im not able to find them. Just trying to find out what I can do to make this thing a tank of a reel. Thanks a lot guy's.

Most of the upgrade for the 500 will be the same for the 505 i.e.  SS yoke, jack, dogs, sleeve and bryans 5+1 drag stack

Also, the same tiburon frame for the 500 fits the 505. I did an upgrade for one awhile back http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=13119.0

Ok awesome.  I took her out and threw it and she is fast already.  Any other links to upgrades were I can order would be great.

keep the drag pressure under 8 pound to avoid shredding the main gear.  that's the most important thing!
