Hello Experts,
I'm a newbie to this forum so please excuse my innocent ignorance. The purpose of this post is to request assistance in getting an old Newell 220-M back alive & well. The reel sat in my desk drawer for a long time and now (fine before?) exhibits the following:
- Free Spool isn't free
- Crank handle turns backwards
- Turning crank handle does not engage spool despite engaging/disengaging free spool
I'm interested in help with a schematic/"How-To" or don't mind sending (paying) the reel to a trustworthy expert for repair. Any suggestions?
You could have some gummy old grease as well as possible broken dog spring. If you don't get in a big rush I can fix it for you. I just started on a 20 rod order yesterday so I will be busy for a while.
