Title: Are carbon fiber washers compatible with Brass drag disks?

As the subject line says, are  carbon fiber washers compatible with Brass drag disks?

I'm contemplating upgrading some very old reels (assuming I can find correct size drags) but seem to recall the admonition that when upgrading you should change the drag washers to stainless steel.   Is that for longevity or due to the brass being to soft for the CF drags?

i always use them.  they work great!

I'm a bit slow this evening.    You use Brass or Stainless?

BTW, stainless may be unavailable in this particular instance...

yeah, brass is fine.  nothing wrong with them!
