Title: 113h tension spring

Can you substitute a key no. 8  8-349 tension spring for the washer key no. 8A  18-970 tension spring drag . I sure hope so or practice makes perfect for me !!

I don't see why not, whatever works best for you. I usually reverse what you're doing on smaller reels.

Thanks Sal , why I ask is..I put the 349 in by mistake instead of 970 .. It's on a 113H I should have said that . It pulled 20 lbs. on spring test before  I realized my mistake .

I use them or non Penn Bellville spring washers for reels from the 113H up, smaller reels use the wavy spring washer.
