Title: For Fred for a dog spring
Post by: AlasKen on May 26, 2015, 02:59:50 AM
Fed ask that I share an Alaska photo.  This ling was caught yesterday.  It is out of season and hit while looking for some rock fish.  I caught it on my new Shimano Charter Special in about 200' of water.  About half way up decided I need a new handle badly.  I was using a Calaba's heavy whopping stick.  It worked pretty good for a boat rod.  I caught it woth a Blue Roustabout jig.  I grabbed a quick photo and back to the deep no worse for the wear.  Ken

Nice Ling, Ken --

You grow them big up there.

Good release too.

Best,

Fred

Consider me tempted.  Let me know the damages and we can see what I can do for two.  Thanks. Ken
