Title: Cleaning Corrosion
Post by: Sandbar33 on December 23, 2010, 02:55:47 PM
As as delv into this reel cleaning venture I find no problems with degreasing...CARB CLEANER IS WONDERFUL!......I am however having a time getting rid of rust, rust stains and that green gunk that gets trapped in tight spots and brass gears. How do you guys approach the tough stuff?

Soak the parts in white vinegar and the green will miraculously disappear. If you have any Salt-X, that works as well. The household cleaner CLR is very fast and thorough, but I don't like it because it is toxic.
