Just yesterday I took my narrow 4/0 tib toy halibut fishing. It was a relaxing morning until the bobber went down. Lil Red was up to the challenge. Using a 6ft g loomis hybrid, 80 tufline and a 16/0 circle hook and some frozen herring we got a "bite". The fish pulled hard and made some hard long runs but little red got er done. The length/weight relationship estimated it at 150 lbs. It was more fun on a small tricked out reel that I assembled myself. Enjoy the picture.

Great work Gary! That is a Nice Butt! ;D
That is an Amazing catch and nice modified torium handle on that bad boy. Is that a thumb drag you attached on that? Hey, use one of adams inserts and you wont need that anymore!
Thats a pretty nice fish. It's also great to see these reels that are built among members here catching decent sized fish.
Nice! I'm impressed with the things we have done to the 113H.
what more can i say, fantastic gary, your starting the season off right, very nice catch, congrats, nice pic and story as usual, take care my friend. harryk

Awesome Gary. Great seeing catches that I dream about.
Really great catch, that little reel has some real power.
Whoa! Nice fish. I'll be up next weekend get the boat ready. That is an awful lot of sea lice on that fish. Is that usual? Dominick
Gary, you're the butt king ;D
Little red gets it done ;), very nice buddy.
Gary from one big BUTT to another...I got to come fishing with you ;D
Nice fish

Mark
Excellent Halibut Gary,
What is the gear ratio in your YTS? How deep were you fishing? If the gear ratio is 4:1; how much effort to get the fish up? What poundage was your top shot of mono?
You know I need the details Gary,
Leo
Gary,
Now that looks like fun. We already know what kind of scenery your stuck with. Keep the pictures coming.
That appears to be a different species of sea lice then we find on some of the billfish species here ocassionally. I guess Halibut don't jump to rid themselves of these guys? They don't hurt anything though.

Beautiful! Congrats and thanks for sharing!
