Guys,
I saw a post about someone using a product called "Wheeler Cerama-Coat" on METAL parts of fishing reels. I was immediately curious, so I started "surfing". Here's what I've found, so far.

PRO's: Can be done at home
CON's: Expensive, possible "durability issues", few colors

Apparently, there is a similar product, made by VHT, that is much less expensive and gives similar results . . . "VHT FLAMEPROOF COATING".

I have the wheeler on an aluminum frame. Seems to be holding up fine. The VHT did not seem that durable on penn rings.
I have some alumihyde ii coinng to redo some newell bars and I will see how it grips on a penn ring too. A cheap easy way to recoat old penn parts is definitely needed if one want to flip old reels

Hello, John !
By "SS", do you mean a Penn SS Spinfisher ? If so, I think that Powder-Coating would do a nice job on the Black portions of the reel.
Yessir, I probably have a half dozen that could stand it.
Thanks!
