These aren't monster fish as many of you post, but fishing is fishing and family time makes it that much better! :D
My daughter and I had our first fishing 'date'. I fished this pond when I was very young so it was fun to bring her here. It was actually my first time fishing freshwater since about 2002 or so. We caught 6 in about 20 minutes...that's all the time she wanted to be down there (as you can see in the one photo).
Either way it was fun and she loved holding her new combo ;D
My little Mitchell got loaded up with 8 lb and performed flawlessly on a little Tidemaster, such a nice fun little reel (Thanks for the part Fred!)

Tight lines!
Nice catches and I hope to be fishing with my future little ones like that! Also, that is a beautiful country side. Where do you live?

COOL!
Fish are fish, one of these days I'll take a photo of a stringer of 10"-15" kokanee and post it.
Thanks, yeah pretty special fishing with the kiddo. I can't wait to take her offshore :) That is Chester County, PA, my brother actually bought the house we grew up in from my parents and he has done a great job with it. They own about 7 acres surrounded by another 20 acres, with about 80 acres on the backside. Lovely place to grow up. Thanks for noticing! House was built in 1740 and it's very special to all of us that it is still in the family. I'm in Philadelphia, a short 50 min drive away.
;D I had to laugh when I saw the picture of your Daughter in the background with her pout on, I would have captioned that picture with. Daddy I want to hold my fish. She is as cute as a button. Great pictures.
Dan, is that a 304? I have one gathering dust, but looks perfect for the pond in back the way you have it set.
That was her "I DON'T WANT TO TOUCH IT" face ::) She did end up touching a tail though, haha.
Yes sir, it was my grandfathers...similar story, covered in dust/earth matter and the handle didn't crank. So I spent some time and did a 100% tear down, and now she is right as rain. 'Reely' fun reel ;)

She is a doll Dan,bless her heart.
Nice report. Feisty, cooperative fish always make a difference when fishing with the kiddos. Size doesn't matter, EVER, when you're catching with them.
My youngest daughter - just turned 11 - is my current partner.
Funny thing happened that we did not realize until yesterday while looking through fish pics from 4-5 years ago ...yea...I had more hair then...no... that wasn't the funny part. ;D
She caught a nice Mirror Carp ( the big scaled variety) on Memorial Day last month and Lo and Behold! we saw the exact same fish posing with my son and I which he caught while earning his Boy Scout Fishing Merit Badge 4-5 years ago. The scale pattern is a perfect match on both sides. The fish was long and skinny then with a large head and thin body. Now it has grown into it's head a bit and filled out some. And put on almost 3 pounds.
Kids grow up and interests change so get all the fishing in you can.
thanks for sharing.
I still remember those days. When I was a kid it was blue gills and catfish that got me hooked on fishing.

Same here. I was raised in a farming community and always was fishin in farm ponds for sunnies or cat fish and eels, a local grocery store owner used to buy all the eels we could catch and used them for Striper fishing, back then I wasn't into salt water fishing, beside it kept me in soda pop money. ;D

Isn't it funny that you cannot get them to do something at that age. That photo is priceless. It made me chuckle. Dominick

I love seeing these old 304s out in the wild. Not something that happens very often. I like mine.
Thanks for posting!
Thanks for sharing those Dan. :D you are a good Dad! ;)
Thanks for the kind words and taking time to read the post! Next time I'll soak some gizzards for catfish...we had a nice 15lb'er come out of there when I was about 15. How times change...zero responsibility other than making sure country music was blaring on our Sony cassette system...ha!
Then again I'm preaching to the choir on this one aren't I? ;D
I have both of my daughters and granddaughters fishing with me almost every weekend. Granddaughters are 3 and 4 (pics posted earlier). I have a pole rigged already for my 1 yr old grandson who has just started walking. We use bits of marshmallow for bluegill and pieces of hotdog for catfish. Makes for a great time.
