I just bought a Record 51 reel used, and it seems very good. I also have a 5601 C4. Is the Record considered a better reel than the 5601 C4 ?
the price tag would certainly make you think that!
both reels benefit from a full service. after that, i doubt that a fish could tell the difference. if i closed my eyes and cranked, i doubt that i could either.

Thank you. I noticed that the record has a spool with vented holes. It casts further with the same set up as the C4. I hope to get a schematic to figure out where the difference in performance comes from. Paul
