Title: Penn Special Senator 114HL Spring Disk Question
Post by: Lumberjack93 on July 17, 2015, 01:47:19 AM
Say, does anyone know what the correct orientation is for the spring disk on a Penn 114HL?  Key #18A  Part # 18-114H

I have mine going like this:  ||||||||||  )

So, after the 10 Carbon Fiber & Metal Drag Washers, I place the Spring disk in this orientation  )

Is that correct or does it matter?

Thanks to any takers.

That's how I do it if it's going inside the side plate.

Thanks for the advice Keta.  I just customized a Penn 114 HL with a SS Main & Pinion Gear from Smooth Drag
along with SS Dog, SS Yoke and SS Gear Sleeve.

I also sent my old Compression molded side plates back to Penn and they sent me the correct Injection Molded Plates.

I did notice that the reel sounds totally different after adding the SS Gears.  I guess this is to be expected.

Now, all I need is one of those nice Keta Cranks and I'll be in Business.   :)

They will still honor the replacement?  Hmm, I think I have one of those compression molded sideplates on one of my 6/0s.

Thank you.  I'm aware of the bulletin.  I just wasn't aware that they were still replacing sideplates.  Thank you.

Thank you.  I'm aware of the bulletin.  I just wasn't aware that they were still replacing sideplates.  Thank you.

I sent them my old side plates 2 weeks ago and they promptly replaced them.

Good luck.
