Title: Revo Inshore spool bearing 3rd gen
Post by: trevore on July 27, 2015, 09:17:28 PM
I have a trio of the 3rd gen Revo Inshore reels. I cracked them open to clean/service them. I cannot for the life of me get the shields off the bearing attached to the spool nor the bearings under the tension control knob.  It looks like the shields are actually perforated and snapped in place.  Can anyone else comment on this? The spool bearing in the removable plate on the off side comes apart with no issues. Thanks in advance

Trevor

Found info I needed. I guess Abu saved a few pennies and put some cheaper bearings in this reel.

Yep they must be pressed in. It's hard not to damage the little bearings trying to pry those shields off.

I have been putting them in a little bottle filled with TSI 301, shake it up a bit, let them sit while working, and put them back in. It does an amazing job.
