The scalloped handle nut, I believe puts this reel in the 1940-42 production years.  Cool, prewar small reeI with the waffle clicker, wooden handle knob, and drilled arbor.  Great little collectable reel.  Let me know if your interested in selling it, they typically sell for around $40 on EBay.  I would love to add it to my collection of prewar Penns.  I would have to consult my 'Penn Bible' to give you more information on this guy though.  I do remember the BayHead was not a particularily valuable reel though definatelt still a collectable.  This post really belongs in the Antiques and Collectables section.

Cool reel, I would probably keep that on the shelf and not mess with it.

I would love to add it to my collection of prewar Penns.

There are actually two (2) waffle-clicker Bayheads currently offered on fleaBay:

Got mine today (Thank you, Jamie!)

Love this little thing.

Going to see what makes it tick, draw up a schematic and such since we didn't have one, then put in on a shelf :)
