Title: andros 12IIA
Post by: aaronr on August 06, 2015, 11:38:30 PM
Hello all, I have what I think is a simple question for the reel gurus here.
I just bought this reel and I wanted to grease the drag as I could tell it wasnt greased
at the factory, or at least to my standards. but when I put the reel back together
something is not right. It will not freespool it does not seem to disengage completely.
I turn the handle and the spool spins. I dont know what I am missing.
I am hoping that someone here knows what I am doing wrong. I know its something simple.
thanks in advance

G'day and welcome Aaron,
Check the drag cam is oriented correctly first and let us know how you get on, ie part #602 is the below schematic:
Good luck, Justin

This is not the same as the 5. This is the newer model with the dual force drag system.
It has a pull bar drag system. All this stuff is new to me and I am having trouble with this thing.

It may not be the source of this particular issue, but the 12 still has a drag cam that has to be oriented within the lever body...

Nope the drag cam is PART of the lever body. It is one piece.

Would be keen to see a pic or two as I've never come across an integrated lever/cam setup before.
Cheers, Justin
