So, I bought this Monster specifically for the color (it was delicious by the way)...all I think about these days is Red Anodized spools. I even find myself using red pens all the time! When I went to pick a cough syrup last week...had to go with the red one. We just bought a new crayfish for our fishtank...had to pick the one with the darkest red strips. Jeez does it ever end :P

Dan................. doesn't have to be treated...............your normal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, Dan, I've been using those red Pilots for years --love 'em!-- and I've got at least half a dozen red anniversary spools in 3 different sizes. :D
Don't have the big red can, though... what is it, an energy drink? And no, it never ends! ;D
~A~
Does tiburon make those pens?
I need one?
Yep, Monster Energy Drink...went to a late night movie (home at 1:30 am, work, then driving to the beach to fish and hang out with the family) so I need it!
Haha, Tiburon could make some killer pens!
My 501 has a red frame as well!!!!
Dan, try to slow down on that drink and try a glass of red wine a day ;)

That puts me to sleep, and I love it with peaches. ;) ;D
Yes, sangria. I love my peaches in red wine and a splash of sprite or 7-up. Peach is my favorite fruit.
I made some for Dominick the last time he stopped over.
I like White Peaches in Wine [Vino Rustica] 15 or 16% Alcohol. Let soak 2-3 days.

That is what my Father-in-Law used to do and it's how I got started doing Burgundy with Peaches, we have lots of Orchards around us to keep me supplied with fresh peaches. And lots of fresh Figs for Figs with Goats cheese and (Brashuta.....Sal or Dominick will have to correct my spelling there).

Prosciutto. You are close to the phonetic spelling of the Southern Italian and Sicilian pronunciation. Dominick

Well my grand parents where from Naples and my X's parents where Sicilian, so perhaps that explains it. Thank you Dominick.

I guess I can stop obsessing now... ::) I did hear that at one point there was even a Squidder with a red anodized spool in the late 70's. That hunt still continues...

I like sangria and live peaches but Id live to find a really nice Jiggy red spool and also red counterbalanced handle if anyone has it laying around :)

Good luck with that Squidder red spool, I have never seen one :-\, red plastic yes, but not aluminum.
Nice collection, Dan! I haven't heard of a squidder anniversary reel, but knowing Penn, it probably exists.
Best of luck on your treasure hunt.
Dom
How does red Monster go with Vodka? I know Millennials like Red Bull with a Vodka!
Haha oh man...I have a little bit of red fever too. Just picked up a red 50th anniversary spool for my accurate 500!
Just purchased an Ice blue frame from vintage offshore Tackle for my 200, Ill have to see if I can find a Ice blue Spool.
Joe
Not sure about the energy drink mixes, I'm a Hendricks/Tonic or Makers Mark Manhattan kind of guy.
Dom/Sal -I had a gentleman give me a hard time for calling the reels 'Anniversary Reels' and he said he had a buddy that bought red anodized squidder spools from a Penn dealer around '77 - '78. So who knows... (the conversation ended up getting interesting, so it was worth the initial back and forth banter, haha)
No Ice Blue Spool for me, none available as far as we know right now but I would settle for Silver,Black,or Red at this point for my Surfmaster 200. I'm Desperate at this point for a new Aluminum spool to fit that reel because the original one is pitted and really doesn't complement the new AccuFrame from Randy. Hard to find after market parts for the Surfmaster, I guess not many people dress them up.
Joe
Dan you do have one heck of a nice collection there, I'm starting to work on mine little at a time.
Definitely not treatable... as witnessed by latest (unnecessary) acquisition:

Truly. I am one sick puppy... ::)
Cracked open this poor reel to find the drag stack not just stuck, but
fused together so solidly that I couldn't even slip a razor blade between the washers... :P
Honestly, it's a crime what some folks do to their equipment. >:(
Anyway, into the Simple Green bucket it goes, that can usually un-stick the mess so I can start reconditioning.

Scots: Isn't that far from me, I can drive there and pick it up...as a matter of fact I will call him now to see what he has available. Thanks for the heads up. I'm also waiting for a response from Randy as well. Thanks
Joe
Aiala - My 113HLW was the same way...FUSED. Also, bent eccentric spring as well (not even sure how that happens). I emailed the seller...his response..."felt fine to me"...long llllllooonnnnnggggg sigh followed once I read that. Oh well.

Randy has one that is less expensive so I'm getting it from him, and I like his service...fast!! ;D

Dan, I never bother writing back. The way I see it, anyone who would sell a frozen-up mess that "felt fine to me" is obviously an idiot, and I don't waste my time on idiots. ::)
I just fix it up better than new, and move on. ;)

Excellent! It's tough to kill those great old SS spinners. The 750 is one tough customer; I once caught a 50-lb YFT with mine. ;)

how about a progress report on the 113H tanking? Also, terrific feat of the YFT on the 7500SS. Nicely done, that'll work you out on a 30 Wide with a belt.
