Title: Daiwa Millionaire 4hm damaged screw on left side face plate.
Post by: winston61 on September 11, 2015, 12:30:46 PM
Typical amateur mistake. Tried to remove a side plate screw and the screw deformed beyond removal. Is there a screw extractor small enough to use to remove the screw? I have a bit small enough to drill into the screw, but need a tool or method to get the screw out. Thanks to all.

I don't know the size you are referring to, but I can tell you how I removed a broken Daiwa screw.

I have the Sears 3 extractor set. I used the smallest one. It has a 'V' shape with sharp slots. When I turned the drill driver in reverse it did  not budge the screw.  It did however cut a perfect inverted cone. My drill bit was centered perfect, so I started with the smallest bit and then slightly larger. The remaining skeleton of the screw then turned right out!  Try not to drill out the threads.

Good luck.
