Does anyone know what the foot numbers mean on abu garcia reels? IV heard it's the year it was made, iv also heard it's for ordering parts.

Thanks lee,that charts explains it all. I still dont get it :D I have a c4 with the following numbers on foot 070109. so what do they stand for?

Just a guess,

07, custom reel number
01, year designed (2001)
09, 9th change

Design year 1997
Revised once
Produced in 1999

Usually followed by "/nn" where nn is the week.

Think there's a sticky about reel foot numbers.
