Title: What make a fisherperson Smile?
Post by: gstours on October 12, 2015, 03:52:41 AM
Here are a couple of shots of a good friend of mine who has taught me a lot about trolling for king salmon and eating them too!

Its his turn to smile.  I just steer the boat.

Thanks for viewing from your armchair!

Very nice, what kind of reel is that?

nice Kings!  Looks like a centerpin to me. The BC boys and girls favor that style of salmon fishing.

A Daiwa mooching reel. A type of centerpin, but with drag.

yea...I was guessing and it really didn't look all that "knucklebuster" to me like most centerpins do.

Oh, its knucklebuster all right. It just busts them more slowly. (drag yes, no antireverse)

Really a fun way of fishing. Very action packed. Takes a lot more finesse too.

The reel is a Diawa M1 mooching reel.  about $60 cheep.   they have a pretty good drag, clicker on/off, and a freespool lever.   Waaay more fun to catch salmon with.  This one is good, and there are many similar out there,  metal and plastic!
