Title: JigMonster
Post by: thorhammer on October 15, 2015, 07:05:28 PM
Tom H. kit, Accurate handle from Randy, anny spool, various SS goodies under hood and just waiting carbontex kit. This may be the only reel I plinth; if I scratched it I'd start crying....we can only hope Tom decides to run more, plus the Squidder kit....and anything else to match. SUPERB.

I did almost the same except I used a Penn Red Knob 24-66 Handle.

Wow, a beauty!  I'd fish it, just to say you do :) Great job.

Thanks! Glad to see you back on! I have a few more gut pieces I want add (probably a Bryan stack and SS sleeve). It's gonna get a custom stick; it's very worthy of a Vadney if anything I have is, but I feel like since I did the reel I'll do the rod too and am experimenting with a few things first so I get it right. You're right, I think I'm going to have to get at least one good pull on it.

Great job putting that baby together!

I too hope Tom reproduces these. Just a sweet reel.

Thanks!  If he does I'd certainly get a mate, and love to have the Squidder too. The 9/0 frame is the deal.

Sick looking reel! You could laser engrave "JIGMONSTER" into it, that could be really cool in the right font!

Tom makes art work when he does a project, and you sir, have made him proud I'm sure.
Well done,
Dom
PS- I wouldn't fish that unless Tom came out with more kits.

That is a very cool reel and yes you need to get Jon to build you a cool rod for it before taking it out on its first big adventure.

Thanks Dwight! In no way can I do it justice like you two, but I'm gonna give this rod build a shot. If I'm not feeling it's up to snuff I'm gonna get you pro's on it! At worst case I would then have a matching rod left over for one of my orphan 500S builds.

PURTY!!! I would fish it too  ;D and then be sick after I scratched it. These creations like yours should be enjoyed for what they are. A work of art & since we most likely could never re sell our works for what time, effort and $$$ we put into them, I say "Fish On Man". Nice job

BT

you could put it on a plinth and not listen to a bunch of foolish fisher peep's  ;D

You know, all I can say is I hope Tom is paying attention and realizing some poor souls will be spending money on therapy to decide whether to fish his reels rather than on his reels, when the win-win is obvious.... Run some more of these babies so we get one to plinth, one to engrave, and one to fish!!!!!

Actually I will need a fourth... I nabbed a hard to find silver accurate spool too in case I dint want to go red. Both is mo betta.
