Some of the typical scenery from a boat.

Bald Eagles are a fairly common sighting around the shore. Often seen perched in tops of trees. The white head makes them easy to spot from a distance.
This a modified mooching reel. spool diameter is 5.5inch and has a greased cork drag and works well. Its my go to reel till I get another one finished that will be similar but cf drag and maybe prettier. I use 80# spectra and if you get snagged on the bottom you can usually straighten the hook and get your gear back. Generally 40# mono is used with a 8ft+ leader... As we troll close to the bottom for these tasty king salmon with whole herring.

here is a dandy we got a while back. It put up a great fight. Makes your day, when its finally in the boat. gst.

here is the reel that didn,t copy into the above script. I,m still learning. practice? huh?
:o wow! That's a beautiful place you call home. And that is some fish.
I really miss SE, even the rain.
As I looked at the photos of heaven on earth I thought of past salmon fishing trips and a then a question comes to mind. Why am I in Florida? It is a winter thing. Don't like the snow.
Keep living your dream. You certainly have a beautiful place to call home.
Pretty there! Wouldn't even care if I didn't have a bite.
Thanks for watching. Ya some days the fish dont bite! But you always get some fresh air, and can say you tried.
AAAAAAnd, if you have a crab pot sitting in the water on the way home you just pull it up and theres your prize!

When it comes to seafood fresher is better!
Hey Gary I suppose you read about our crab season. Check out this link http://abc7news.com/business/dungeness-crab-season-delayed-indefinitely-rock-crab-season-closed/1072509/ Dominick
Sorry to hear that big closure on the dungys. It hurts the little guy that wants to work, and is tired of cleaning the boat.
I dont know how it effects prices down there but in Oregon the price off the counter at stores was $10 whole.
Sometimes money talks and the wholesalers may bring some in for sale at higher prices.
If there is a bright side the live crawling crab arent going anywhere so when the fisherman gets a green light watch out it will be another zoo! and then the fun will be had.
I guess it got hotter than normal everywhere. I,m like a crab, and didn,t like it!
Man nice catches there!!! The scenery is really nice.
I have never used fly and have no idea how they work. pretty cool experience!!!
great scenery gary, real beautiful, thanks for sharing. harryk
Gary did you follow the thread on the Tank going to other members? I sure would like you to put a hurting on it with one of those giant halibuts. Go to the thread and reserve it if you are interested. Dominick
