Title: B-Day Goodies.
Post by: Steve-O on November 13, 2015, 03:59:51 PM
Yesterday I celebrated a bit with a new reel and some jigs, hoochies and hooks. ;D

This is my 3rd Omoto conventional. I have the VS-12 two speed, the VS-10 single speed and my latest the Talos 10N - narrow spool jigging reel. All are lever drag models with robust engineering and seem to be quality innards. I opened and greased the first two  and will peek under the hood of my new one soon. Got a spool of Daiwa's J-braid to go on it. 40#, 300 meters, multi-colored for measuring depth and spooled it on to one of my Abu 6500's; then cranked the drag down on it to then wind it up tight on to my Omoto Talos night and tight.

Wife and kids topped off the goodies with a  dozen jigs from Jigging World, some squid hoochies and G-katsu hooks. Lucky me! ;D

Very nice reels. I have a couple of Omoto's myself and they make a great jigging reel. Happy B-Day and the wife and kids did a great job with a dozen jigs!!

Yea, they treat me like a king.

The cake was Death by Peanut Butter and Chocolate...covered in Reese's Cups and Pieces. We had Chinese take out before the cake. I about died.

Thanks Yong and crew at Jigging World for the braid and jigs!

Yea....my wife made some comment about "hoochie goochies" when I unwrapped them.  Squid skirts sounds weird, too. But I will be "dressing" my jigs with skirts so I suppose it fits.

Happy Birthday Steve! Love that last pic.
Not long ago, I serviced one of those Talos for a friend, I was so impressed that I grabbed me one.
Mine is a 14N, same color as yours.
Great reels, very similar to the Triple.

After the sushi roll, a serving of lo mein, Gen Tsao chkn, Orange chkn, Thai basil, and steamed rice...I had a slice of the cake with choc. Ice cream.......almost croaked.

Had a slice of the cake for breakfast and went into sugar overload.

Reese's ARE my favorites. Now have 4 pounds extra to burn off.  ::)

58 does not feel like spring chicken anymore.....but I still try to act like it. Rode my Kahuna Longboard a while today to burn the calories.
