Have you serviced or used any Omoto reels?  Any comments?

yes, early models had a few issues, later models look pretty good.  anything in particular that you were wondering about?

Is the 2009 model Uliess OK?  Any problems with the drag if I use 65# braid?

not sure of the model number, but you should be fine if it is the model i am thinking of.  what's your max drag at strike before losing freespool?

Hey Doc,

That is the model Zorro (gold color) I sent to you couple years ago. It is a heavy reel, but it puts out15# on strike and 20# on full before losing free spool.

opps, sorry, al.  yeah, that was the one i took with me on the long range trip.  built like a friggin' tank.  i know exactly where it is, too.  unless bryan moved it!   ;D

hey, i will be headed up to oregon to attend the ifish/salty dogs convention.  can i take those up as raffle prizes?  thanks!  alan

this one is gold and it is missing a handle.  i needed it to repair another reel that alan had sent over.

I that the gold reel on the bench with a reel cover, no handle?  If it is, it's next to the bearing.
