Title: Seeing red....thanks Coastal Dan

Had a bunch of parts laying from different projects and upon seeing Coastal Dan's excellent pictures of his Penn 50 anniversery collection, I decided to get out the screwdrivers and make my own take on it.

Spool pic shows some corrosion, it was like that when I got it a decade ago. I had recco'd to Dan awhile back to rinse with DI water, dry, and clear coat with nail polish. I found a really good solution for the red anodize: Ford G2 Redfire Pearl, afm 0379. I was pleasantly surpised.

pics out of order. Everything was repurpose and of course everything lubricated properly; about ten seconds of free spool. The Newell bars were pitted badly and scarred; sanded, primed and sprayed with engine block block black; will get heat cure when I pull it back down for new drag stack. I loved Mother's Mag polish and Penn reel cleeaner on this one.

That finishes this set; onward and upward.

Holy cow, how did I miss this!  Nice Job!  The nail polish trick works like a charm, thanks for sharing.
