A buddy of mine has two Ambassadeur 5000D's....he loves the reels, but isn't wild about their slow speed...can the drive train in these be upgraded to increase the reel's speed? Thanks, and Tight Lines to all
I know that, at one time, ABU made a 5500D which was a higher speed version of the 5000D. The gear set (you'll need both the drive gear and the pinion gear) for the 5500D should drop right in. I don't know right off the top of my head what the higher speed gear ratio was.
