Title: ht100 drag question
Post by: lanceeggenberg on January 05, 2016, 01:29:39 PM
Hi guys I'm headed to Florida in a few days and I just upgraded my penn 16/0 with the ht100 drag kit.  My question is should I grease them or leave them dry?  I've been researching this topic for a day or so, I just don't want to have a drag failure on a fish if a lifetime on this reel.  Any info is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance, Lance

Grease them for a much smoother drag without startup inertia. Use Cal's drag grease, Shimano drag grease or Quicksilver 2-4-C marine grease - these are all Teflon/ptfe baed greases.

Lance, please post some pics of that 16/0 on the water for us; it's 25 F here right now with a beach trip months off. I'm certain Sharkhunter would love to see the heavy metal buttoned down.
